Risk Analyst

The Risk Analyst is responsible for the development and ongoing application of an analytical framework for evaluating and managing residual value risk on a predictable and profitable basis.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Setting and monitoring of residual values for BMW Group vehicles

Statistical modeling and detailed analysis of relevant market data

Working closely with the BMW sales company in Canada and external data providers to improve processes and methodologies

Calculation of residual value risk reserves on a monthly basis

Tracking realized market value performance relative to the competition

Prepare and present internal management reports on residual value development

Analyze the historic residual performance of the portfolio and develop visual and written reports that summarize these results, identify trends, explain variances from expectations and provide recommendations for improvements

Build and enhance the ongoing relationships with external residual value agencies

Liaise with the Risk team in Munich on relevant topics

Ensure compliance with all corporate risk guidelines

Other duties as assigned

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Statistical Analysis and/or Mathematics or equivalent experience is required

1-2 years of Automotive Finance / Risk Management experience preferred

Strong mathematical aptitude and proven analytical skills

High attention to detail

Self-motivated, results-driven and highly organized

Able to perform in a fast-paced, team-based environment

Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills

Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required
