The Financial Analyst, Corporate Accounting will be responsible for the consolidated reporting activities of Oxford Properties Group. These activities include the consolidation of monthly, quarterly and annual results and their submission to OMERS, preparation of internal reporting packages and related reports, coordination and completion of quarterly reforecasts and annual budget, and full cycle accounting and IFRS reporting for Canadian structures entities within the group.

This role requires strong technical and communication skills as well as the ability to multitask in a complex environment. Experience in the real estate industry involving consolidations and related reporting is preferred. Experience in a large organization with a complex legal entity structure considered a strong asset.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:
• Oxford’s key consolidation and financial reporting processes for monthly and quarterly reporting to ensure financial results are transmitted to Oxford’s parent on the 3rd business day following month end;

• Coordinating the execution of consolidated month end processes: month end key indicator generation and review of variances, equity reconciliations, intercompany eliminations, foreign exchange analysis, analysis of gains and loss accounts etc.;

• Preparing Oxford’s consolidated monthly, quarterly reforecast, and annual budget internal Financial Reporting Package and related reports;

• Preparing and summarizing analyses of monthly and quarterly consolidated and regional portfolio return calculations and related variances to budget and forecasts (income and capital returns);

• Providing insight and analysis into monthly and quarterly results versus budget;

• Contributing to the preparation of Oxford’s quarterly and budget slide presentations;

• Preparing/reviewing/posting month end close entries for consolidated reporting such as hedge journals and mark to market adjustments;

• Performing quality review of various reports prepared for internal use or parent reporting;

• Completing ad-hoc analyses as required by management;

• All aspects of general ledger accounting (including review of journal entries, funding requests, account and bank reconciliations, inter-company reconciliations and payments) for certain Canadian structures;

• Preparing quarterly and annual consolidated IFRS financial statements and annual tax financial statements for certain Canadian structures;

• Liaising with external auditors and provide necessary support and documentation to support the audit process;

• Coaching and supporting the continuous development of at least one Corporate Accountant.

To succeed in this role, you:
• Have completed a Degree in Accounting and obtained a Professional Accounting Designation (CPA);

• Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in financial reporting/analysis or audit experience preferably with Real Estate exposure and have a proven record of strong performance;

• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook;

• Have dealt with complex organizational structures and consolidations;

• Possess strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; consolidation experience in complex environments is an asset;

• Analytical, and have the ability to produce analysis with appropriate style and language to support conclusions;

• High attention to detail and strong follow-up skills;

• Possess strong report/memo writing skills;

• Have experience working with international organizations in a multi-currency environment;

• Strong process management/improvement skills with a mindset for continuous improvement;
