Job Overview

The Analyst will be expected to provide a broad range of analytical and research support to all professionals within the Financial Institutions and Public Sector group. The Analyst will be involved with a variety of projects to expose them to various aspects of loan origination, deal structuring and execution. The Analyst will work with a number of senior people internally to support a wide range of client relationships.

Responsibilities include financial statement and data analysis, financial modeling, due diligence, industry research and assisting in the preparation of credit narratives, presentation materials and client pitch books. The role of Analyst is challenging and fast-paced. It requires dedication, passion for the industry and a very solid work ethic.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Run financial models mainly focused on credit analysis and risk rating evaluation.
  • Responsible for conducting in-depth company, industry and portfolio analysis to support the credit relationships for a portfolio of clients.
  • Conduct sound, timely and well-communicated recommendations for credit facilities supported by thorough analysis and well-executed interpretation of relevant financial, industry, business and market information.
  • Prepare internal committee presentation documentation.
  • Play a key role in the preparation of business development proposals and participate on business development calls as required.
  • Maintain the group’s databases on a current basis.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, engineering or other complementary business industry discipline.

• Unquestioned professionalism, ethics and reputation. Approach to the workplace that is based on open communication and a team atmosphere.

• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to effectively communicate complicated concepts and financial data.

• Excellent understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.

• Experience in financial statement analysis and financial modeling.

• Knowledge of business, economics and/or finance acquired through education or experience.

• Strong technical/computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Bloomberg).

• Excellent organizational and time management skills. Adaptability and flexibility to deal with a rapidly changing environment.

• Demonstrated proficiency in the assessment of unstructured business problems.

• Experience with Financial Institutions and Public Sector, preferably in lending is an asset.

• A proven academic track record.
