What is the opportunity?

2018 update – We are looking for developers to join the Front Office Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities IT team here at RBC Capital Markets. In the face of ever changing industry trends and regulation, we are continuing to diversify our technical talent pool as we simplify and strengthen our systems

The requirements are simple: You need to be smart , technical and get things done.

Financial qualification or experience is welcome but not required; we want passionate techies that love solving problems and writing code.

What will you do?

We have a large number of teams looking for new talent, all of which have openings right now. Technical opportunities include but are not limited to:

Big Data and Grid Computing

Low latency e-trading

Pricing and Financial Modeling

UI & UX Application development

Server side, parallel and multi-threaded computing

We are looking for talent across a range of seniority levels ranging from junior developer up to team leads and technical experts.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-Have

You must be an exceptional coder in at least one object orientated language, preferably Java and/or .Net.

Detail oriented, architecturally strong, data focused software developer

Minimum 3 years professional experience ; experience deploying software in a production environment

Experience supporting the software you have written

Pragmatic and not idealistic – we want solution people who deliver on their ideas

Nice-to-have

Degree level or higher qualification in a quantitative subject

Some example code / pet projects to bring along to an interview

Experience interacting with senior management and project stakeholders
