Job Purpose:

Job purpose is to co-ordinate the successful routing of shipments. Job purpose is inclusive of handling files from arranging shipment from start to finish; preparing documents, sending documents to the appropriate parties, invoicing & costing accurately and closing the file in timely manner.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate shipment routings with clients, agents and Rodair offices
  • Open files and complete all documents accurately
  • Trace shipments on a daily basis
  • Update clients on status of their shipment
  • Arrange pick up and delivery of shipments with domestic and international agent offices
  • Liaison between clients, agents and carriers
  • Issue invoices accurately and with in 48 hours if possible.
  • Issue intent to claim (whenever needed)
  • Accrue pending charges
  • Approve payables
  • Update costs with agents and carriers
  • Request profit share
  • Request and follow up on POD’s and update system
  • Paper save documents
  • Close import files accurately and completely
  • Maintain and update client status report(s)
  • File away completed files in numerical order into boxes
  • After hours as required
  • Other tasks as required

 

Relevant work experience:

  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years previous experience in the freight forwarding industry, specifically in the area of Transborder freight, priority freight and high risk/high value cargo

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Computer Literate (Microsoft office)
  • Good judgement
  • Good communications skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to be diplomatic in stressful situations
  • Ability to work in a time sensitive environment
  • Ability to be proactive
  • Ability to be flexible
  • Good telephone manners
  • Ability to work well with others as well as individually

 

Education:

  • University or College background preferred
  • CIFFA certified is an asset
