This company is a leader in promotional products and logo apparel, and has over 20 years of custom branding experience with distribution and fulfillment capabilities in both Canada and the United States. We are currently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist with more than 1+ years’ experience to join our winning team in Toronto (DVP and Eglington area).
Working with this mid-sized company, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
All aspects of accounts payable for 3 companies
Receiving bills and having bills approved for payment
Post all bills for 3 companies after having them approved
Dealing with vendors/suppliers regarding payments
Writing cheques (electronic and manual)
Reconciling vendor accounts with their statements
Start new vendors on Quickbooks Enterprise following company procedures and guidelines
Filling out credit references forms for vendors to secure terms
Filing of Accounts Payable invoices and cheque backups etc
Other responsibilities as required
To qualify for this challenging and rewarding position, candidate must have:
Knowledge of accounting/bookkeeping principles and practices – College/University Diploma/Certificate in Accounting/Bookkeeping, or equivalent
1+ years’ related accounting experience with small to medium sized company
Analytical individual with effective investigation and problem solving skills; high attention to detail
Ability to work well under pressure, dealing simultaneously with a number of duties and responsibilities
Strong organizational skills; prioritize workload for maximum efficiency
Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with a diverse group of people including management, staff and customers
Strong computer skills (MS Word/Excel), including proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks)
