Air Freight Coordinator

Position Title: Air Freight Coordinator

Branch: Dorval, Quebec

Department: Airfreight

 

Job Purpose

This role is responsible for daily air freight operations, and high level of customer service.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Analyzes and resolves complex cross-functional issues

·         Familiarity with transportation security administration procedures

·         Ensures invoicing of rendered services is completed accurately and in a timeframe consistent with company policy

·         Responsible for completing coordination between all applicable parties for Airfreight export shipments

·         Assist in pricing analysis for clients and projects as needed

·         Understand the terminology related to international shipping and the processes involved: from time of purchase order placement to delivery of cargo to final destination

·         Handle accounting processes accurately and in a timely fashion as they apply to the export department

·         Develop clear and concise SOPs

·         Accrue pending charges

·         Approve payables

·         Monitor traffic and cost budget compliance and advise senior management of deviations

·         Ensure that month end reports/activities are completed on time and accurately

·         Make certain that CASS reconciliation is accurate

·         Solve problems/client disputes

·         Assist in preparing/monitoring and analyzing department budget & profitability

·         Assist in the development of new customers

·         Ensure that quotes are completed within company guideline timeframe

·         Assure proper information flow with management, sales, team members, etc on changes and/or problems with external clients

·         Thorough knowledge and understanding of Air Export environment

·         Comprehensive understanding of BRI (strategy and products)

Education

  • College Level Preferred
  • CITT considered an asset
  • CIFFA considered an asset


Work experience

  • Industry experience: 1 – 3 years
  • Language skills: fluent in English

  • Motivation to do that little bit extra, be creative
  • Solid communication skills is a must in dealing with customers and co-workers
