About the Job:
Kreston GTA is looking for a CPA to join our audit division. Kreston GTA is a mid-sized firm located in Markham which provides accounting, tax, assurance and related services to corporations and individuals. Our client base is diverse from various industries.
Overview of Position:
The primary responsibilities will include:
-Working directly under partner
-Performing audits of public, private and NPO clients
-Taking the lead on entire jobs
-Preparation of corporate income tax returns, including foreign reporting
-Preparation of consolidation accounting
-Developing a positive working relationship with staff, supervisor and partners of the firm
-Managing multiple project assignments
-Continued professional development of audit and tax
Requirements of Position:
-Accounting degree and CPA required
-3+ years’ auditing experience at a Canadian public accounting firm, and experience must have a focus on public companies audits; a minimum of one year’s experience as a senior accountant / supervisor
-Management experience and ready for leadership role
-The ability to supervise, support and inspire senior and junior staff through regular training, performance coaching and mentorship
-Development of audit schedule for all audit files and audit plan for each file, responsible for completing complex engagements
-Strong time management skills, including the ability to multi-task, manage staff, and meet tight deadlines;
-Able to work hard to meet demands at key times of pressure and take on challenges; ability to work in a high pace environment
-Must have strong computer skills, Word and Excel a must
-Audit experience with CaseWare working papers a plus
-Great written and verbal communication skills in English
-Ability to identify critical issues with ease
-Excellent attention to detail
-Quick learner and able to adapt to changes well
-Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
