Business Analyst Intern

We’re searching for a smart, business minded, technically savvy Intern to join our Toronto team as a Business Analyst and help build the next generation of our platform. This role will play an instrumental role in driving our growth by producing the research, analysis and reporting that will inform our business decisions and strategy.

  • Testing: You will assist the Design Team to develop hypotheses, design experiments and test ideas for new features across user segments
  • Finance and Accounting: You will assist the CFO to develop budgets and forecasts, create financial models and develop funding materials (i.e. refine business plan, pitchdeck)

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for teammates that are ambitious, filled with ideas, always curious, honest, down to earth, and excited to be a part of our journey as we build the next big global fintech company. Some of the qualities we’re looking for:

  • Detail-conscious, organized, responsible, and dependable
  • Genuine interest and vision for how consumers shop and save online
  • Can work productively with tight deadlines and changing conditions
  • Willingness and ability to assume additional duties and assignments as needed
  • Constant focus on performance and results

Daily and weekly projects will vary, but may include:

  • Research the business potential for enhanced purchase management features in our app and conduct A/B testing to explore product/market fit
  • Conduct the SWOT analysis, develop the business case and draft the implementation plan for unlocking credit card benefits in the retail and travel verticals
  • Maintain and update the Retailer Price Adjustment Policy Catalogue
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses to support short-term business priorities
  • Create the analyses and management reports to quantify and qualify user activity
  • Assist with the development and enhancement of financial models, accounting systems and books and records (corporate and finance/accounting)

  • Assist in processing price adjustment claims; develop ways to improve claims success ratio; automate parts of the process including alternative claim paths and natural language processing

  • Working towards (or have completed within the last three years) a degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting (or a similar degree) with exceptional academic credentials
  • Advanced Bachelors or Masters candidates are highly desirable
  • Experience in building financial models, preparing reports and presentations
