Co-op M&A Execution Analyst

THE POSITION

Reporting to a Senior M&A Associate, this exciting co-op position will be a valuable contributor to the M&A Execution team of the Communications & Media (C&M) portfolio. You will support the evaluation and acquisition of mid-market vertical-market-software companies:

  • Deal Evaluation (50%)
  • Information gathering and Q&A with prospect companies
  • Review and analysis of financial statements, working capital, and customer history
  • Financial modelling and valuation
  • Transaction Support (25%)
  • Financial, strategic, and operational due diligence support
  • Market, competition, and industry research and analysis
  • Special Projects (25%)
  • All of the above responsibilities will be conducted in collaboration with the broader C&M portfolio team. You will have an opportunity to get hands-on M&A experience and add value throughout the entire M&A cycle.

    THE PERSON

    You are driven to perform, are results-oriented, have high attention to detail, and are willing to work variable hours. You have excellent social skills, a warm phone manner, and are an enthusiastic energetic self-starter. You are extremely organized and do not let details slip. You are a collaborative individual, who can work easily within a team, but is comfortable driving work to completion independently when required.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Must haves:

  • 3rd year university student specialized in accounting and/or finance
  • Strong knowledge of finance and accounting concepts (e.g. DCF model)
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong academic performance
  • Great attention to detail
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Nice to haves:

  • Financial modelling experience
  • Previous internship experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, or private equity
