You will contribute to all aspects of Zurich Compliance Program in Canada including strengthening compliance culture, providing innovative compliance solutions to the businesses and providing assurance that compliance risks are identified and managed. Through this role you will gain insights in all core areas of modern compliance risk management and mitigation:

  • In this role you will support in managing and further developing select Zurich Canada’s compliance training and awareness activities as well as policy frameworks including but not limited to trade and economic sanctions, anti-bribery / anti-corruption and fair treatment of customers areas.
  • You will further sophisticate our regulatory compliance management framework and implementation of applicable new laws and regulations related to compliance..
  • You also will be supporting select assurance activities and theirrecalibration in light of evolving risk landscape and shifting priorities.
  • In this role you will closely collaborate with the senior management, business units and other assurance providers. In addition you will be part of the regional and Group Compliance networks which support these activities and foster know-how and knowledge exchanges
  • Job Accountabilities

  • Manage and mitigate Zurich Canada’s compliance risks across select compliance topics
  • Manage and further sophisticate select etraining, policy and other compliance frameworks
  • Structure and manage varying Zurich Canada Compliance projects of high relevance to the Compliance function
  • Support the team in strategic and operational matters across all elements of the Compliance mandate and organizational questions
  • Business Accountabilities

    1. Provide expert solutions for key customer(s)

    2. Enhance business through consulting with key customers

    3. Ensures the successful completion of projects by maintaining continuing

    dialogue with business unit sponsors during implementation of major projects

    4. Deliver high quality solutions

    5. Diagnose and develop recommendations to solve unique business unit and

    customer problems

    6. Lead complex technical or long-term (over 6 months) business projects to

    implement new or changed systems, programs or products

    7. Investigate, recommend and implement leading edge technical solutions when

    they meet customer needs
    Job Qualifications

    Years of Experience: 0-5 Or More Years Of Related Experience

    Education Requirement: Bachelors Degree Or Equivalent

    Additional Qualifications:

    1. Advanced degree (MBA, JD) desired

    2. Proven in-depth advisory and consultative skills

    3. Strong influencing, communication, customer service and negotiation skills

    4. Effective conflict resolution, presentation and project management skills
    5. Research and analytical skills
    6. Experience in delivering management information and building sustainable relationships at varying levels of an organization
    7. Understanding of insurance industry/ financial services and its regulatory environment
    8. Track record in insurance industry (e.g. claims, underwriting), financial services or management/strategy/communications consulting desired
    9. Prior experience in Compliance or other assurance function (e.g. Audit, Risk Management) within the insurance industry/financial services an asset
    10. Technically savvy and innovative as well as proficiency in MS Office (in particular Excel and PowerPoint)
