Role Purpose:
Contributes to the overall success of the Tangerine Bank Internal Controls unit through the development, implementation and sustainment of initiatives in support of the teams business strategies and objectives, with a focus on the implementation of the Consumer Protection Framework at Tangerine Bank. Ensures all activities conducted complies with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Tangerine Internal Controls team supports a comprehensive and integrated program designed to identify, measure, assess report and monitor operational risk exposures facing Tangerine. The main area of responsibility for the Senior Manager, Internal Controls is to support the overall implementation and governance the regulations pertaining to the Consumer Protection Framework. This includes working with and reporting to key stakeholders and supporting Senior Management and Risk Management with the implementation of applicable policies, standards and guidelines.

Support the Director, Internal Controls in the oversight of the implementation of Bill-86 Consumer Protection Framework Program (CFPF) for Tangerine Bank ensuring that key regulatory controls, processes and guidelines are implemented in alignment with Scotiabank. Specifically in relation to the Bill-86 CPFP:
Responsible for tracking progress and providing Dashboard Reporting to the Risk Operations Working Group, Risk and Governance Committee; including management of all relevant committee and working group agendas, minutes and meeting materials.
Support the planning and coordination of programs to further enhance the Consumer Protection Framework program within the Bank and develop programs to meet the Banks needs by providing support to the business line and direction to individual project leads.
Champion the implementation of the CPFP (and act as the SME) to provide a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
Prepare and present status and informational presentations for Senior Management, business lines, and Scotia partners as required.
Prepare/implement detailed Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) related to the implementation of CPFP ensuring they are aligned with Scotia initiatives.
Ensure the development of procedures an in line with regulation and new controls have been identified and incorporated in the process/procedures.
Skills you need to succeed.
Bachelor degree in Business Administration or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in compliance, legal, regulatory or closely related disciplines in the Financial Services industry
Previous experience in information security or audit is an asset
Strong understanding of regulations and compliance risks impacting the Bank and the importance of key mitigating controls.
Experience with identifying, documenting and assessing risk and controls within the first line.
Experience in delivering on regulatory compliance projects and/or programs.
Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to effectively communication with business partners at all levels of the Bank.
Proven leadership and time-management skills.
Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and negotiating skills.
Expert knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
