This is a permanent full-time position working 35 hours per week.

Preferred Background:
The successful candidate must possess a degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting along with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in financial roles. The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to develop, coordinate and deliver accurate financial analysis and presentations for stakeholders within critical timelines. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team and independently is required as is excellent analytical and organizational skills. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) are required. Knowledge of municipal finance and the SAP management information system is an asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.


Duties
:

  • Prepares monthly housing provider payments, performs year-end reconciliations, and participates in operational reviews.
  • Provides technical support and assistance in the development of Housing operating budgets, ensuring submissions are in accordance with the budget guidelines and policies.
  • Assists in the preparation and review of Housing variance report submissions.
  • Prepares the budget and variance information packages.
  • Coordinates, reviews, analyzes and completes subsidy claims, financial reports, budget documents, financial statements and year-end reports for Housing program.
  • Contributes to the preparation of presentations and staff reports for Council.
  • Undertakes financial analysis for special projects.
  • Performs ad-hoc analyses as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
