A Kingston based client of Withey Addison LLP is seeking a Controller/Financial Analyst.
Reporting to the President, the successful candidate will have a hands-on approach to providing strategic and financial leadership within the company. This is a small team that works in a very entrepreneurial and fast paced environment. The ideal candidate for this role will have previous experience with full-cycle accounting and an ability to lead and perform all accounting, reporting and cost analysis. This role requires a high attention to detail and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as someone who is fully proficient with advanced functions of MS Office and Sage 50/accounting software.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Manage and perform full-cycle accounting including A/P, A/R and payroll
Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports
Prepare and report monthly G/L and bank reconciliations, ensuring compliance within travel industry legislation and trust accounting
Prepare annual budgets, forecasts and variance analysis
Manage and project cash flow
Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, and the company’s performance
Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
Develop plans, forecast and provide strategies that the company should consider
Enhance and develop new internal controls
Ensure tax compliance specifically HST
Liaise externally with auditors, bankers, vendors and insurance companies
Prepare various financial analysis as required
Manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used
Maintain the overall financial health of the company
Education and Experience:
Bachelors of Business Administration with Accounting or Finance focus
Professional accounting designation preferred
5+ years of post qualification experience in a management role
Experience working with ASPE

Knowledge and experience in motivating teams to achieve goals
Highly organized; strong analytical and problem solving skills
Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office Software
