2021 Analyst, U.S. Regulatory Relations

Is this role right for you? 

The Analyst in U.S. Risk Regulatory Relations Group (“RRG”) will assist with the Relations Group in the United States to help ensure regulatory interactions are executed / delivered with high quality of materials and in compliance with internal policies and procedures.

You will responsible for supporting and coordinating supervisory exam management, continuous regulatory monitoring interactions, and reporting to management and committees on regulatory topics. The role includes partnering closely with business unit and control function management and staff to support their regulatory interactions. The incumbent will assist with improving quality of regulatory submissions by providing through review of materials and supporting enhancement of presentations for consistency and branding.

Manages coordination of interactions with internal stakeholders and U.S. regulators, including but not limited to:
Supporting U.S. oversight for regulatory examinations and regulatory monitoring
Co-ordinating with stakeholders to support delivery of requested information, including coordinating and attending regulatory meetings with control functions and business unit personnel, support with summarizing discussions
Assist with improving quality of regulatory submissions by providing through review of materials and supporting enhancement of presentations for consistency and branding
Collaborating with U.S. Business and Control Function staff to support their regulatory interactions
Developing presentations for senior management meetings with regulatory stakeholders and regular reporting on regulatory matters to senior bank stakeholders and committees
Support drafting of regulatory responses in coordination with other senior stakeholders and management
Assist with centralized issue management systems and repository where documents are stored and previous examination memos and reports are archived
Ensuring timely submission of all requested daily, weekly and monthly reporting to our regulators
Identifying risks arising from interactions with regulators and escalating them as appropriate
Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

Bachelor’s degree
Experience working at a Financial Services Firm, Consulting Firm, or a similar position
Strong skills in Microsoft tools including PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, etc.
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with multiple stakeholders both internal and external
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to solve problems, multi-task and manage changing priorities
Familiarity with rules, regulations and laws a plus
