Corporate Banking Analyst, LATAM Power & Infrastructure Finance

In the United States, Scotiabank has been operating for over 100 years and serves clients through teams of Relationship Managers and Product Specialists working together to offer multi-product solutions to clients’ financial needs.

Scotiabank’s Global Banking & Markets has a unique opportunity for an Analyst to join its Latin American Power and Infrastructure Finance team in New York City.

This position will appeal to outgoing and self-motivated individuals with a strong desire to work and learn in a challenging and fast paced environment. The successful applicant will work primarily with the Power and Infrastructure Finance team and will have significant exposure to various areas such as Corporate Banking, Capital Markets, and Syndication groups among others. In this fast-paced environment, it will be important to balance multiple priorities and responsibilities while meeting prompt deadlines.

Establish relationships with Corporate Banking Units in Latin America and understanding each country’s financial services market
Professional interaction with clients and internal personnel
Data analysis and data manipulation for generating research reports and presentations
Preparation of detailed client presentations
 Do you have the skills you need to succeed? We’d love to work with you, if you have:

2 – 3 years of experience in Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, or similar
2 – 3 years of Project Finance and financial modeling experience a must
Bachelors or Masters degree in Mathematics, Finance,  Business, Engineering,  Computer Science, or equivalent
Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills are necessary for the successful applicant
Knowledge of Bloomberg is helpful, but not necessary.
Excellent leadership capabilities and communication skills (both written and verbal).
Speaking, reading, and writing Spanish is a plus
Proven record of outstanding achievement in academic and extracurricular activities
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
