Senior Manager, Business Process Improvement and Change Management, U.S. Finance

In this role as an Senior Manager, Business Process Improvement and Change Management, GBM Finance US; you will contribute to the overall success of the
Finance function in the United States ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. 
Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.This is a new role that is key to the sustainable success of major transformative initiatives within Finance.Is this role right for you? You will be responsible for:

Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
Understands the objective and benefits of transformative initiatives and incorporates these in architecting  target business process and supporting solution
Works with Finance teams to understand and practically document current business processes, inputs, outputs, controls – capturing human and system activities
Is able to articulate – to a variety of stakeholders – the difference between current and future states, the impact of proposed change – and to support the change management activities of transformative initiatives
Considers the benefits and risks of short-term tactical improvements vs longer-term strategic changes.
Partners with teams outside of Finance to understand touchpoints and Finance dependencies to improve interaction and efficiency
Gains insight from other regional Finance teams to incorporate best practice and promote consistency
Sets standards and drives consistency in how process is described.  Establishes KPIs for measuring process improvement.
Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills you need to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have:

Bachelor Degree in Finance, Technology or Industrial Organization.  MBA beneficial.
10-15 years in Financial Services or in consulting roles with a focus on Financial Service organizations.
Experience working in an audit, controlling or process improvement role within the Finance / Product Control department of a large-scale Financial Services organization.
Deep exposure to the workings and flows of information in the Banking and Capital Markets business, their products and the typical organizational constructs of a large Financial Services firm.
Awareness of Regulation, Financial Services industry and technology trends
