Third Party Risk Management, Relationship Manager

In this role, you will support the Business Continuity Management (BCM) Oversight program for the Third-Party Risk Management, for the U.S. Operations of The Bank of Nova Scotia. You will be supported by the BCM units in Toronto and New York and have day to day management from the Senior Business Continuity Manager in New York. You will provide oversight to the US TPRM team, Contract Owners and the Toronto Business Continuity Management Unit (BCMU) to ensure consistent and regular communications and training of the BCM elements of the TPRM program. You will provide consistent reporting on the health of the BCM elements of the US TPRM program. You will work with the US TPRM team and Contract Owners to ensure they are meeting established deadlines and documentation for BCM TPRM deliverables.

 

Is this role right for you? You will be responsible for:

Fostering strong relationships with the US TPRM team, Contract Owners and the BCMU
Serving as SME for the program, ability to identify and address key third party related risks and areas of concerns associated with new and existing third-party relationships
Driving appropriate stakeholder participation in evaluation of risk and control effectiveness
Conducting training with stakeholders to ensure business continuity function awareness
Delivering reports as required/requested and ability to create a story with data
Providing counsel to internal stakeholders, clearly articulating the program, process and results
Performing quality control on US TPRM contract review requests
Participation in calls and communicate BCM requirements to Vendors with the assistance of the Contract Owners and facilitated by the US TPRM team
Performing ongoing monitoring of vendor performance of BCM commitments
Partnering with the Toronto BCMU to share updates and resolve challenges
Understanding how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
Actively pursuing effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to enterprise policies, standards, frameworks and guidelines
Championing a high-performance environment and contributing to an inclusive work environment
 

Do you have the skills you need to succeed? We’d love to work with you, if you have:

An undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or comparable
3-5 years relevant experience in Risk, Business Continuity and Third-Party Risk Management
Excellent communication (both written and verbal), facilitation and presentation skills
Confidence and tact to challenge and negotiate responses to stakeholders
A positive, proactive “can do” attitude with excellent organizational, and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize and adapt to changing demands and deadlines is essential
Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative
The capability to resolving escalated issues requiring coordination with other departments
The right motivation by aspiring to achieve collective goals
Self-motivated and proactive, with respect to both managing workload and professional development
The ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to manage different priorities
The ability to build strong relationships with all levels of management, including executive management (VP level and above)
Strong excel skills and attention to details
A recognized professional business continuity or risk management designation is preferred
