Process Analyst, Mental Health & Addictions Program

Under the direction of the Senior Clinical Program Director, Mental Health & Addictions, and in collaboration with the overall Health Centre data analysis team, program staff and physicians, this Process Analyst position will work to improve the collection, maintenance and dissemination of the RAI-MH Minimum Data Set data (RAI-MH MDS) for patient care areas and ensure the requirements for the Ontario Mental Health Reporting System (OMHRS) are met. The position will also provide administrative support to the Senior Clinical Program Director and other identified areas of the program. This is a network position (St. Joseph’s Health Centre, St. Michael’s Hospital).


Accountabilities:

  • Contributes to the completeness and accuracy of the RAI-MH Minimum Data Set data (RAI-MH MDS);
  • Prepares the data files for submission to the Canadian Institute of Health Information (CIHI) and works with staff and physicians as necessary, for issues relating to data submissions;
  • Submits the data electronically to the CIHI and accesses the submission report from CIHI;
  • Co-ordinates and submits any corrections and monitors and ensures data quality;
  • Liaises with CIHI regarding any data submission issues and communicates pertinent information to the Site Co-ordinator and Site experts as well as to the program staff;
  • Ensures the requirements for OMHRS reporting are met;
  • Provides administrative support to ensure efficient and timely acquisition, interpretation and dissemination of data, and provision of information ;
  • Coordinates data management activities within the patient care areas;
  • Analyzes data requirements for efficient systems development;
  • Integration of related projects;
  • Develops necessary data administration standards and protocols;
  • Communicates effectively with other department on data analysis and issues of common interest;
  • Identifys trends to provide input for effective management decisions;
  • Provides education and computer support for the staff of the Mental Health Program.

  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant Community College diploma required.
  • Recent, related experience preferred. Experience in a health care environment preferred.
  • Advanced computer skills in Excel, Word, Access, Powerpoint, and statistical software.
  • Demonstrated research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with physicians and various levels of staff.
  • Proven ability to prioritize multi-task workload, maintaining high volume and tight deadline.
  • Satisfactory attendance record.
