Reporting Analyst

Job Description
Position Overview:

The role is responsible for all strategic and BAU financial reporting and analysis within Strategic Customer Marketing targeted to senior leaders.

Working within a core team, the Reporting Analyst is also accountable for the implementation of a strategic portfolio planning and selection process driven by prioritized business benefits.

This position will be done well when planning and reporting show visible delivery of business benefits outweighing investments over time using key financial and non-functional metrics.

Accountabilities:

  • Analyze and complete financial reporting for Strategic Customer Marketing
  • Ensure compliance of financial reporting and best practices
  • Ensure cost budgeting structure aligns with organizational structure
  • Establish and maintain business expenses
  • Extract expenses from SAP and verifies accuracy
  • Track purchase requests and expenses
  • Verifies, tracks, and analyzes, and reports on variances
  • Prepare periodic budget forecasts and cost re-projections
  • Analyzes, tracks, reports, and escalates cost variances
  • Develop meaningful and insightful management reporting to communicate business benefits on BAU and strategic initiatives.
  • Create tailoring dashboards that focus on reporting business benefits
  • Provide portfolio report consolidation and distribution
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on business value metrics
  • Monitors, analyzes, and reports on business value trends (cost/benefit)
  • Tracking and reporting of strategic organizational benefits is a key success criteria for the Digital Services organization
  • Create, maintain and report on a Strategic Customer Marketing balanced scorecard
  • Contribute to the development of a strategic portfolio planning and selection process where initiative funding is disbursed based on financial and non-financial business benefits
  • Maintain business resourcing demand to prevent resource over allocation, implement process improvements, encourage innovative thinking
  • Support the business in achieving objectives by responding to various internal and external reporting requests.
  • Identify and recommend modifications to improve process efficiency, quality and database design (e.g. cube consolidation, hierarchy, account definitions).

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Completion of post-secondary degree in a business related field (accounting, finance, economics or actuarial studies) or equivalent education and experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail combined with superior time management, prioritization and organization skills.
  • Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong working knowledge MS Office with advanced Excel skills; Knowledge of SAP and MS Access considered an asset.
  • Experience with preparation and facilitation of financial information to internal management and external users would be an asset.
