Research Assistant – Global Infrastructure – Public Private Partnerships and Project Finance – Toronto
The Role:
You should be a highly skilled and motivated individual, interested in infrastructure and have a willingness to learn project finance skills. As a Research Assistant, you will provide broad basic support for all credit related matters for our public private partnership/project finance team, which is part of a global infrastructure ratings practice. The position is based in our Toronto office.
Key Responsibilities:
You will support a team of Senior Credit Analysts with database maintenance, extracting financial and economic data from source materials and inputting into group applications, as well as develop and update financial forecasts. You will also help with routine surveillance and publishing activities, conduct industry research, and assist with ad hoc projects. You will thrive in an environment of continuous improvement. You should also have high customer service standards while adhering to established ratings criteria, policies, and procedures.

With the mentorship of senior analysts, you will work closely with the sector team on its ongoing surveillance of a portfolio of rated issuers. You will perform basic fundamental credit analysis, forecasting, and industry analysis. As a high performing team member, you are likely to be considered for providing support on more complex issuers and transactions, as well as providing input to financial models and written analysis used for committee reviews and external publications.

The Global Infrastructure Practice was established to expand our ratings franchise in an area of strong growth and to demonstrate our significant global infrastructure expertise across the full range of infrastructure asset classes. Analytical team members reside in 16 locations globally and work on a diverse range of transactions globally applying different ratings criteria, predominantly corporate and project finance. We also work on transactions in partnership with other practices. Effective collaboration and a thoughtful approach to problem solving are highly valued.
