The Team
Within the Scotiabanks Cyber Integration & Automation (CIA) team, the Policy Design and Implementation group is responsible for designing, testing and implementing security control configurations operated under Cyber Security Services (CSS). This involves building security policy configurations, testing to ensure they meet business requirements and deploying them globally across the banks security infrastructure. This team also provides post implementation support and root cause analysis in supporting the banks mission and mandates for cyber security.
The role
Reporting to the Director of Policy Management, the Data Protection Specialist is primarily responsible for the ongoing implementation of security controls to mitigate ongoing data security risk involving the loss or exposure of Scotiabank informational assets. The Data Protection Specialist is responsible for providing advisory and technical knowledge to the development, implementation and improvement of solutions to protect Scotiabanks informational assets from loss or exposure.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
Post-secondary education in Computer Science or relevant work experience in an IT related field
You have at least 5 years of hands-on technical working experience in any of the following: information security, software development/engineering, networking and/or IT support.
You have at least 4 years of hands-on technical working experience with DLP technologies
You have experience working with policy creation, implementation and governance
You are an effective team player while being comfortable working autonomously
You have strong analytical and problem resolution skills.
You possess advanced communication (verbal/written/presentation) skills in English.
You have experience with Windows, Linux and Unix operating systems
You have experience reporting and presenting policy review and tuning data
