Contributes to the overall success of the Canadian Data Platforms team in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the teams business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Accountabilities:
Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
Provide technical analyses and recommendations in terms of new solutions and supporting existing ones.
Manages the execution of day-to-day project-oriented work efforts and meeting customer expectations for contracted time, cost and specifications definitions. Reviewing requirements, estimating work effort on new initiatives, develop design documents (GDD) as well as File specs.
Manages technical team in the areas of scheduling, technical direction and standard development practices
Build and maintain strong working relationship with peers within the business unit and with business partners
Meets scheduled milestones to ensure project/program objectives are met in a timely manner.
Responsible for assembling project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts, identifying resource needs, performing quality review while ensuring Bank standards are being adhered to.
Provides expert advice to Business Partner and/or IT areas, and IT project teams.
Operationalizes technical and managerial processes and supervises the development and maintenance of business support systems.
Review and approve Production ready deployment.
Liaise between EDW and IT&S / CBT.
Facilitates problem resolution when production problems occur.
Responsible delegate for the Senior Manager in their absence.
Ability to contribute in Agile environments with understanding of its methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and its tools (Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps).
Works well independently & as part of a team; experience working with remote teams.
Able to provide 24×7 pager support on a rotating basis.
Education
Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science or technical equivalent
Must have at least 5 years of experience as a Project Leader along with working experience with JCL, Cobol, Assembler, CICS, FTP/SFTP/PGP, DB2, IMS, TSO, Endevor and CA-VIEW
