Responsible for the performance of cash and accrual management functions, general ledger accounting including but not limited to trust account, intercompany and provincial sales tax review functions and financial reporting. Accountabilities:
May be responsible for one or more of the following:
Perform regular and recurring accounting functions requiring professional competency
Use established Accounting principles to work under limited supervision and to provide assistance to the management of the team with daily operations
Establish appropriate procedures for preparation of accounting records, research of transactions, and reporting
Aide in completion of annual budgets and financial statement audits
Develop, manage, and implement month-end closings, including all related processes and procedures
Assist in compilation of monthly and annual tax filings including GST/HST/QST and income tax provisions
Review monthly account reconciliations of various general ledger accounts to include; research and timely resolution of complex reconciling items
Prepare monthly analytics for review
Analyze journal entries to the general ledger ensuring data integrity and accuracy
Examine daily bank reconciliations and cash flow projections
Maintain trust ledgers and ensure proper cash application daily
Review supplier invoices and expense reportsfor proper general ledger coding and accuracy
Perform adhoc broker/agent deal adjustments
Research and analyze complex accounting transactions and issues
Ensure financials are in accordance with GAAP or other required accounting standards
Research internal and external accounting/financial questions and resolve issues
Contribute to operational and process improvements
Perform special projects as assigned
