Senior Android Mobile Engineer

The HERB technology team is a group of developers working on solutions to revolutionize the cannabis industry. HERB is looking for a Senior Android Mobile Engineer to execute on the vision for HERB from a technical standpoint. We’re bringing our 10M+ users an unparalleled experience so they can make better decisions around cannabis. We push HERB’s frontier, adding new products that make sense in an emerging mobile world, from which we draw the majority of our searches.

As a member of the team, you will be responsible for leading the development and launch of core product features. You will have a significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define these product features, drive the system architecture, and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product.

The ideal candidate is clearly passionate about new opportunities and has a demonstrable track record of success in delivering new features and products. A commitment to teamwork, hustle, and strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners) are absolute requirements. Creating reliable, scalable, and high-performance products require exceptional technical expertise. This person has thrived and succeeded in delivering high-quality technology products/services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift fast.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years experience
  • Possess sound understanding of the full mobile development lifecycle
  • Java/Android SDK
  • Android Studio
  • Git
  • Published several apps on Google Play Store and enterprise deployment
  • Experience with Design patterns used in mobile world: Dependency Injection, Builder, Singleton, Observer, Command, Adapter, Facade, etc
  • Experience with Unit Testing
  • Have experience with third-party libraries and APIs
  • Have experience working with remote data via REST and JSON.
  • Familiarity with reactive programming principles (RxJava)
  • Experience with Material UI
