Senior IT Project Manager (Employee)

Our customer is looking for a full-time employee to fill an immediate Senior IT Project Manager requirement. This position is responsible for project planning, project management, co-ordination and administration of assigned technology projects. Projects will be large and complex, budgets exceeding $10M and teams of 10 to 50 individuals.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops plans, budgets, communications, change management and testing activities for major IT projects
  • Manages resource planning and updates stakeholders on the status of active technology projects
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: employees, management, consultants and vendors
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all stakeholders
  • Identifies and hires contract resources as required for projects
  • Ensures all project documentation including project initiation documents, project charters, status reports and issue/resolution tracking are complete
  • Leads effective and efficient meetings, engaging internal and external stakeholders of all levels
  • Administers project close activities and the project closure lessons learned database
  • Provides on-going support and expertise to project teams
  • Ensures effective transition of delivered solutions to operating support groups
  • Leads or assists as needed in the preparation of business cases and project proposals
  • Mentors and provides guidance to coworkers on project management
  • Directly manages project resources including employees or contract personnel as required.
  • Complies with Procurement and Corporate Governance policies for vendor quotes, request for proposals and purchasing
  • Identifies opportunities and proposal of solutions for continuous improvement
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations

Education and Qualification Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of combined technology project management education and experience
  • Experience with large, complex technology implementation projects a must
  • Post-secondary degree in technology or PMP designation an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly working with teams in demanding environments
  • Excellent written skills, particularly communicating complex technical issues to diverse audiences
  • Experience working with MS Office Suite and MS Project an asset

Work will be onsite at the customer’s office near Woodbine.
