Qualifications
- Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Jira cloud instances, and other Atlassian products including: Confluence, Access, and various plugins
- Experience administering Jira / Confluence environments with a mixture of on-premises and cloud & migration of on-premises to cloud and experience with Jira version upgrades
- Has successfully completed a large project involving Atlassian tools within the past three years
- Experience with processes, workflows, and boards that support the complexities of managing differing needs of Product Owners, Developers, and Testers across projects, sprints, and teams
- 5-10+ years of Jira and Confluence software administration experience
- 5+ years developing custom solutions using the Atlassian product suite
- 3+ years of batch scripting experience
- Be a key contact for Atlassian support
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with stakeholders and software development personnel
- Strong time management skills including planning, prioritization, and organization with an ability to multi-task
- Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum principles and project management methodologies
- Ability to develop advanced scripts and leverage API calls
- Ability to write custom JQL (Jira Query Language)
Responsibilities
- As a Senior Jira / Atlassian Administrator, you support Jira and related tools
- You will be responsible for front-end configurations, implementing customization, evaluating, implementing and managing plug-ins, integrations, and for being a go-to source for all Jira related questions and tasks
- Create, manage, and support all administrative functions associated with the Atlassian product suite including Jira Software, Confluence, Access, GitHub, Aha, ServiceNow, etc…
- Required experience with the cloud versions of all of the above
- Install, manage and administer Jira add-ons, plugins, and extensions
- Define and manage the rollout of comprehensive/complex workflows (with conditions, validators, and triggered post functions), field configurations, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes
- Gather requirements for business processes and determine ways to optimize and improve JIRA/Confluence setup and workflows, as well as identify where functionality can/cannot meet user requests
- Create training material and standard operating procedure documentation
- Provide formal and informal training to Jira users, and less experienced Jira Admins
- Promote adoption and best practices among the Atlassian user community
- Refine current Jira processes to be more streamlined and uniform for agile teams
- Troubleshoot issues, communicate with process owners, and continue to improve support processes
- Troubleshoot application issues and add-on integration issues in Jira and Confluence working with Atlassian support
- Required experience developing mechanisms to automate manual processes
- Create, manage and support how to leverage Jira APIs for users to automate manual processes, implement business processes, data migration routines, and extract data for reporting and analytics purposes
- Provide Jira subject matter expertise in discussions regarding governance within Jira
- Provide User Management and support for users, manage system access across groups to ensure compliance, and maintain best practices
- Support teams and senior executives with their reporting needs by developing actionable planning views, project metrics, and status reports/dashboards either directly in Jira or through PowerBI
