What is the opportunity?
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for management and delivery of initiatives within the Counterparty Credit Risk IT team, mainly supporting regulatory & internal requirements from RBC’s Group Risk Management department.
What will you do?
Plan and execute projects, including managing project scope, requirements changes, multiple and competing demands and priorities as well as determining and conveying impact on budget, time and risk using appropriate fact-based metrics/assumptions.
Work with Business/Technology Owners to ensure that deliverables achieve the business result that enables value creation.
Seek out industry trends and organizational knowledge to understand alternative approaches and/or solutions.
Facilitate joint planning, schedule and cost forecasting, with the client/stakeholders in the early stages of project formation.
Develop integrated baseline project plans by applying estimated models; document estimating assumptions, refine plans and manage performance against them.
Determine quality standards and oversee the execution/production of management documents.
Raise and track issues and conflicts, remove barriers, resolve project issues and escalate to immediate manager when required.
Support Program Manager; mentor/guide Project Managers/team members in project execution and determining risk-based provisions.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
5+ years of Project Management experience, including experience managing high-value projects (exceeding $3 million) with a high level of complexity
Strong working knowledge of SDLC and Agile delivery methodologies
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
Senior project management knowledge (including plan development; scheduling methodology; project metrics gathering, analyzing and reporting; risk and issue assessment and quantification methodologies; cost/benefit analysis and alternatives identification; budgeting, financials and benefits management)
Senior people management knowledge and leadership skills, including talent management process (i.e. recruitment/selection, performance management, performance development/coaching, reward/recognition)
Nice-to-have
PMP certification or equivalent
Experience with Counterparty Credit Risk & Regulatory initiatives
Experience using PlanView Enterprise
Experience using JIRA software
