What you’ll do
- Provision users/database/warehouses and manage/monitor resources, user activity, storage usage, credit usage/utilization, and more
- Provide support to development processes and release management activities for data, database, and related applications
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues that occur on the data platforms
- Create documentation and communicate with stakeholders on our data platform and capabilities
- Seek opportunities to optimize activities (e.g., queries, warehouse, storage, etc.) in the data platforms (e.g., Snowflake), as well as implementing mechanisms to automate/streamline activities (e.g., streamlining the ability to deploy objects in Snowflake or provisioning users)
- Enable various data & analytics teams across the enterprise for their projects involving data and use of our data platforms by understanding their needs, work on integrating solutions with the data platforms (e.g., real-time analytics, business intelligence, data science, ML/Ops, APIs/applications), and ensuring alignment with the data strategy, as well as security, data governance, and audit compliance/protocols are being met/followed
What you bring
- Self-motivated, agile, and innovative team member, who can manage in an environment of change and ambiguity
- 5+ years of experience with database technology/data warehouse solutions (e.g., Snowflake, ADLS Gen 2, Azure Synapse, etc.), ETL technology, and applications security models
- Strong SQL understanding and practical experience to be able to troubleshoot, guide, and support users
- Knowledge/experience with any programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, etc.)
- 2+ years of experience working in a Cloud environment (Azure, GCP or AWS)
- 2+ years of hands-on experience as a Snowflake Administrator including but not limited to being able to create tables, views, stored procedures, tasks, and more in Snowflake
- 2+ years working in an Agile environment and familiarity with SDLC processes
- Hands on experience with reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, ThoughtSpot, etc.) is an asset
- Broad knowledge across foundational technology domains including security, infrastructure, and networking is an asset
- Previous experience working in the retail industry is an asset
