Accounting Analyst, Accounting Policy & Procedures Implementation

The Accounting Analyst will assist the Accounting Policies and Procedures Implementation (APPI) team in running the processes required to comply with the Bank’s accounting policies. You will assist the APPI team in the implementation of new accounting policies and procedures in response to changes to Bank’s policies under IFRS as communicated by Global Finance – Accounting Policy and Procedures. 

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

Assisting the APPI team and the units in the implementation of new accounting policies and procedures, including collection of any necessary data from the units to analyze solutions and maintenance of any new procedures.
Supporting the APPI team address day-to-day accounting queries from all areas of International Banking, helping ensure both compliance with Canadian GAAP (IFRS) and maintenance of adequate documentation.
Supporting the APPI team to document internal processes which includes collecting and organizing information from several sources.
Ad-hoc projects as needed supporting preparation of Financial Statements notes, system quarries and report building for analysis purposes.
 

Experience / Education:

 

 

Good knowledge of accounting principles is required including applicability to bookkeeping functions
Good communication abilities
Good analytical and problem solving skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn other accounting and financial reporting tools
Attention to detail
Good organization capabilities
Student at a program that provides the base for a Canadian Accounting designation 
Team working ability including capability to build and maintain working relationships with other teams
Knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS)
MS Office suite, especially Excel including macros and pivot tables
Ability to learn Financial and accounting reporting software
Previous experience working in Finance / Accounting department
