Lead Technical Business Analyst – Wealth Management Systems

The Lead Technical Business Analyst is responsible for leading business analysis efforts for the Support and Resiliency team within the Global Wealth Asset Management Solutions area. This role requires an understanding of the financial services industry, with a particular focus on security trading, as well as asset management.

Areas of Business Analysis

Hands-on experience with either Charles River Investment Management System or SimCorp Dimension portfolio accounting system. The incumbent must have some experience configuring, developing and/or supporting Trade Order Management systems and/or Portfolio Accounting (IBOR) systems.
This role is primarily focused on ensuring day-to-day support activities, end-user communications and overall system resiliency efforts are focused on a priority-based approach to delivering solutions in a timely fashion. 
The successful candidate must have advanced knowledge/experience with the Asset Management space, with sensitivity to the importance of quality/timeliness of information required for functions within that space.  Knowledge of financial instruments, including market conventions and valuation methods, Portfolio Management concepts is an asset. 
Good to have knowledge on accounting methodologies and models including best practices, current and anticipated regulatory requirements, Back Office processes and the end-to-end workflows among the Front, Middle and Back Offices
Enable Support and Resiliency Team to resolve complex, multi-faceted problems to meet the business needs of the assigned Lines of Business, by applying sensitivity to supported business lines key interests and requirements for timely resolution to problems.  This includes conducting research and analysis, accurately and clearly defining user requirements and processes, and liaising with the users.
Work alongside Support/Resiliency team to Manage backlog of Resiliency initiatives aimed at improving critical system readiness through overnight Batch modernization, application alert configurations and overall response mechanism.  Manage overall expectations through thoughtful, appropriate updates to IT Management as well as key Business User audiences.  Successful candidate will possess strong communication skills and come prepared to play an active role in this space.  Presentation skills are a requirement.  
Continually acquire and enhance knowledge of the business line’s strategies and policies, risk management practices and methodologies, product offerings, financial markets, financial instruments, regulatory requirements, Back Office processes, and rapidly changing technology to be able to provide effective support and services to the end user business lines.
As this is a ‘Lead’ role, you will be able to demonstrate leadership tendencies and qualities, such as breaking ground in directions the team needs to move in as part of an overall Continuous Improvement mindset. 
Education/Work Experience/Designations

Asset Management applications

Sound understanding of applications landscape in Asset Management (CRIMS, SCD, Pricing (Bloomberg), Settlement, file transfers, etc.)
Hands-on experience and expertise with one or both of Charles River Investment Management System and/or SimCorp Dimension portfolio accounting system.

Functional Skills

Thorough knowledge of software technologies and of the various iterative/adaptive Software Development Life Cycle methodologies

Advanced to Intermediate level of understanding of agile principles and practices, service-oriented environments, and iterative development practices and risk management
Advanced to Intermediate understanding of incremental delivery and the value of metrics including backlog tracking, burn down metrics, acceptance criteria, velocity, and task definition
Demonstrate adherence to team policies, story writing structure, and agreed-to team practices surrounding the use of agile techniques.
Demonstrable problem-solving capabilities.  Can figure things out with limited guidance and by extrapolating from what you already know. 
4 – 6 years of practical IT experience in the relevant projects/lines of business is highly desirable (Asset & Investment Management, Capital Markets, Investment Accounting, Securities trading, Portfolio Management, etc.)
The incumbent must be a creative, self-starting, results oriented and highly motivated individual with very good analytical skills in order to apply this knowledge to independently resolve complex business problems.
