About the role
As a Full Stack Developer, you will assist with design, implementation, and deployment of production code fixes. You will participate in design discussions focused on scalability, observability, and operability of solutions.

Mentor and coach other team members on technical issues, set standards and code reviews
Create an environment where your team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls
Actively discuss implementation details and software architecture with other team members
24/7 on-call rotation supporting multiple applications and occasional weekend releases
 Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? 

Over 3 years of experience as a Node.JS and React.JS developer.
Previous work experience in an Agile/Scrum delivery model
Bachelor (equivalent or higher) degree in Computer Science or relevant experience
Experience creating and implementing on-premise and off-premise applications
Well-rounded interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships cross-functionally, based on Scotiabank’s values of respect, integrity, passion, and accountability
Experience in software development and supporting complex large-scale customer facing platforms
Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Experience working with database technology such as Sybase, Oracle, MongoDB, etc.
Experience in working with scalable containerized systems in public cloud (Azure and GKE/GCP)
Have a proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
Experience in building public and internal REST APIs
Strong experience with APM tools, such as Dynatrace, Splunk, etc.
Comfortable using Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Launch Darkly, etc.
Ability to quickly analyze the available data and find the root cause of the problem during production issues.
Suggest improvements to supported applications and systems as needed
Knowledge of a variety of frameworks (server side, browser side, desktop etc.) as well as high aptitude for diving in and picking up new things
A technical mindset with great attention to detail
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple complex initiatives
