Manager, Financial Reporting Oversight

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting, the incumbent will lead and oversee the financial reporting process for several investment funds outsourced to third party fund administrators, including but not limited to; financial statements and audit, MRFPs, expense budgets and MER tracking for the funds.

This role will require building relationships and interaction with a number of local and international third party service providers and counterparties, as well as internal business groups both locally and internationally.

The successful incumbent will be a focused, highly motivated, independent, innovative leader, possessing a results-oriented attitude with the ability to adapt and problem solve. As an experienced leader, you should possess the knowledge, skills and ability required to manage, coordinate and oversee multiple service providers and counterparties.

The incumbent is expected to perform the various position duties independently under general direction from the Senior Manager or Director. In their execution, the incumbent is expected to act independently within approved project guidelines and within department and Bank policy.

 

Responsibilities:

•    Lead the preparation of the financial statements and MRFPs for semi-annual and annual reporting periods;
•    Lead the coordination of the annual audits, including liaison with external auditors;
•    Liaise with appropriate groups on new fund launches and other product related projects;
•    Facilitate and liaise with other departments on various issues, questions, and requests for information;
•    Manage the review of fund expenses, absorption and MER calculations;
•    Lead special projects/analyses on an ad hoc basis as assigned by the Senior Manager or Director.

 

Requirements:

•    Accounting designation; or working towards
•    Proven experience managing staff
•    Minimum 4 to 5 years of related experience; fund administration or mutual fund experience
•    Highly motivated, independent, innovative and results-oriented attitude
•    Attention to detail and the ability to adhere to time-sensitive deadlines
•    Working knowledge of relevant regulations and accounting standards
•    Proficient in MS Office (excel & access)
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
