Manager, Global Procurement Process & Technology

Supports a team to the overall success of the Global Procurement Services (GPS) globally by ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the department’s business strategies and objectives. The Manager will be responsible for supporting the strategic planning, designing, building, implementing, and performance optimization of the procurement technology systems. Additionally, ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. The role typically will be accountable for multiple work streams/projects and is expected to drive innovation, develop key strategies, and provide forward-looking procurement thought leadership. Leading candidates must be excited about working in a flexible environment, collaborating with business partners, and delivering high quality results in a fast-moving workplace.

 

What you’ll do in this role?

• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Supports the development of strategy impacting any and all parts of the Procurement End-to-End process. Planning requires coordination and alignment with various stakeholders across the entire enterprise, namely Finance, IT, Risk, and Legal.
• Support and lead implementation of small to large initiatives. Proper execution requires a complete view of all key project delivery activities such as requirements gathering, solutioning, change management, and transitioning to Business as Usual.
• Ensure Procurement procedures are kept accurate and current, reflecting changes driven from enhanced processes, updated policies, or new or enhanced technology capabilities. Support training and communication of changes to colleagues within Global Procurement Policy.
• Oversees work across initiatives and teams to deliver sound procurement practices that align to GPS’s strategic vision. Provides guidance to Sourcing Managers and other internal clients on the procurement process as a subject matter expert
• Identifies ways to expand and improve the work process based on understanding GPS process, and of adjacent policies and procedures, offering and enhancing the quality of existing capabilities through automation of process via workflow, artificial intelligence, and high user adoption.
• Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

 

What we’re looking for?

• Bachelor’s degree in management, business, or related field; master (MA or MSc) in business or related field preferred
• 4 – 8 years’ previous experience in program management, project management, financial services, or procurement related field
• Experience in project management methodology and techniques, performance evaluation and change management
• Understand the wider objectives of procurement practices, such as business and strategic goals
• Experience with managing or leading a team
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and comfort in speaking with senior leaders at the Bank
• Proven ability to lead multiple priorities, adapt to constantly changing business environment, and drive projects to completion
• Knowledgeable in financial services and regulations (e.g., OSFI, OCC, CFPB, UDAAP) and how they are applied to Third Party relationships is preferred
