Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the Project Delivery and Support (PD&S) ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the teams business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Accountabilities
Takes a design focus to lead delivery of complex technical assignments and projects where direct precedents do not readily apply
Is accountable for planning the end-to-end design of significant processes and programs (the full journey)
Takes a holistic focus (owner through conception, build and release journey or implementation of design)
Recommends and architects design solutions (plugs and plays) within area of speciality as part of the broader roadmap
Orchestrates idea generation and more complex problem definition (e.g. product stories, scenarios, system requirements etc.)
Impacts solution design and risk mitigation of products, services or platforms supported
Identifies and recommends opportunities to leverage, reuse and scale
Provides technical advice and leads the development of the roadmap within the context of a technical specialty
Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
Understand how the Banks risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabanks Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education and experience:
Spanish language skills (both verbal and written) is mandatory.
5-7 years of IT Project Management experience, with experience in large enterprises, preferably in the banking industry
Strong communication (verbal/written/presentation), relationship building and analytical skills
Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, or related discipline
Track record managing projects of high complexity, high risk and large budgets ($10 Million+)
Understanding of Agile project management principles and practices and experience managing projects in an Agile environment
Mature interpersonal skills with the ability to work with, and influence, all types of professionals
Knowledge of project management tools (e.g., CA PPM) and techniques
PMP certification
Scrum Master Certification (CSM) and/or masters degree / MBA are an asset
