Project Manager, Project Delivery and Support (Spanish)

Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of the Project Delivery and Support (PD&S) ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Accountabilities 

•    Takes a design focus to lead delivery of complex technical assignments and projects where direct precedents do not readily apply
•    Is accountable for planning the end-to-end design of significant processes and programs (the full journey)
•    Takes a holistic focus (owner through conception, build and release journey or implementation of design)
•    Recommends and architects design solutions (plugs and plays) within area of speciality as part of the broader roadmap
•    Orchestrates idea generation and more complex problem definition (e.g. product stories, scenarios, system requirements etc.)
•    Impacts solution design and risk mitigation of products, services or platforms supported
•    Identifies and recommends opportunities to leverage, reuse and scale
•    Provides technical advice and leads the development of the roadmap within the context of a technical specialty
•    Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
•    Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
•    Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education and experience:

 

•    Spanish language skills (both verbal and written) is mandatory. 
•    5-7 years of IT Project Management experience, with experience in large enterprises, preferably in the banking industry
•    Strong communication (verbal/written/presentation), relationship building and analytical skills
•    Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, or related discipline
•    Track record managing projects of high complexity, high risk and large budgets ($10 Million+)
•    Understanding of Agile project management principles and practices and experience managing projects in an Agile environment
•    Mature interpersonal skills with the ability to work with, and influence, all types of professionals
•    Knowledge of project management tools (e.g., CA PPM) and techniques
•    PMP certification
•    Scrum Master Certification (CSM) and/or master’s degree / MBA are an asset
