Purpose of Job
The Inside Investment Specialist is responsible for supporting the sales initiatives of Scotia Asset Management by providing exceptional support to mutual fund representatives in the Canadian Bank network while adhering to Global Sales Principles, compliance and regulatory requirements.
Key Accountabilities
1. Drive Investment Sales Results and Support Strong Financial Planning Engagement
Pro-active and re-active telephone conversations providing primary support for investment products including ScotiaFunds, Dynamic Funds and Retail Deposits.
Support meaningful customer engagement by leveraging finacial planning systems and tools.
Support the new customer acquisition sales process including competitive portfolio analysis, and assisting with the transfer process.
2. Support Sales Efforts of Sales Management Teams
Provide market updates and feedback.
3. Active member of the Scotia Asset Management National Sales Inside Sales Team.
Participate in team meetings, training forums, sharing best practices, updates, and information contributing to overall knowledge of entire team.
Keep Manager informed regarding developments internally and customer challenges or opportunities, as well as on going feedback received during day to day interactions.
Desired Skills & Experience
Thorough understanding of long-term investment solutions to be able to provide the highest level of service expected.
Exceptional understanding of ScotiaFunds and Dynamic Funds products and how they can be positioned in a clients portfolio.
Expert knowledge of Investment Products, Sales Tools, Systems and Support Departments at Scotiabank to support financial planning conversations of mutual fund representatives. This includes financial planning software as well as all retail deposit products and planning tools and systems.
Familiar with competitor products and industry trends.
Minimum of 5 years industry experience in a sales or marketing support role.
Good PC Desktop navigation skills (MS Office, Internet, etc.)
Education and Other Requirements
Successful completion of the IFIC Mutual Funds Course or the Canadian Securities Course.
CFP/PFP designation is an asset.
French speaking is an asset.
