The aim is to provide a streamlined process and framework which will allow the development teams to focus on building business logic. We are looking to build our Infrastructure development team with influencers, makers, creators and industry leaders who will drive us forward.
We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join Scotia Digital Cloud Infrastructure Team. You will work closely with Engineers, Operators, Security Advisors, Architects and Business Stakeholders to design and develop technical solutions to meet cloud requirements.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
Design, develop, manage and maintain cloud platforms, services and components to enable safe enterprise-wide use of public cloud offerings
Designing, implementing and refactoring code (typically Python, Ruby, Groovy).
Ensuring software, programs and applications are developed and/or configured to meet high availability, integrity and reliability, security and compliance requirements.
Working with other engineers and architects on breaking-down, scoping and estimating tasks.
Participate in planning and retrospective sessions, attending stand-ups, etc.
Our teams are flexible and fast you will be asked to provide peer review on a daily basis.
Provide level 3 support and production support
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
Enthusiasm for infrastructure transformation via infrastructure-as-code and automation
Strong development experience, delivery history and breadth of language experience (Python, Ruby, Java, Groovy)
Strong knowledge of configuration management tools and Scripting Languages (Puppet, Bash)
Full understanding of software development lifecycle and release process (GitOps, CI/CD, environments, code repositories)
Proven experience with a cloud provider (Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure)
High level administration skills for RHEL and Windows Operating Systems
Knowledge of software design patterns and secure software development practices
Experience in product development
Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
Writing and maintaining related documentation.
Focus on scalable, enterprise-level software system design (both on code and infrastructure levels)
Attention to details, high standards for quality.
Desire to learn, grow yourself and your team.
Passion for driving teams towards high performance and a deep pride in quality craftsmanship
Experience within Canadian financial institutions a benefit
Bachelor (equivalent or higher) degree in computer science or engineering/mathematics discipline.
