Senior Manager, Credit Risk Analytics and Portfolio Insight (English/Spanish) – Toronto

As the Senior Manager, Credit Risk Analytics & Portfolio Insight (Latin America), you will contribute to the overall success of the Department / Business Area across International Banking jurisdiction ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  You will oversee the Special Accounts International Banking portfolio, ensuring adequate oversight and governance is delivered with regards to the ongoing management of IB PCLs, operational metrics and Early Warnings Indicators of the Corporate and Commercial accounts in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Fluency in both Englis and Spanish is required.

 

Accountabilities

• Oversees the Credit Risk Analytics function on the IB SAM Portfolio, ensuring that the SAM portfolio has adequate PCL levels, ACL buffer and its operational metrics regarding monitoring follow up in compliance with the Bank’s policies and procedures.

• As a critical thinker, assist the Bank in devising Early Warning Framework to identify potential deterioration in the portfolio and/or Bank’s position with customer, recommending appropriate course of action to resolve

• Collaborate with the local credit and Special Accounts management banking teams to formulate risk mitigation and recovery strategies.  Ensures that business strategy is sound, and implementation is in accordance with risk appetite of the Bank.

• Strong ability to impact and influence others by presenting recommendations and solutions to senior executives on complex issues and active participation in discussions in credit committees as required.

• As a subject matter expert, demonstrate a high degree of industry knowledge/expertise and ensure the ongoing quality of the portfolio through review of industry publications and the assessment of financial reporting packages.

• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. Active involvement in account evaluation, business strategy development, account management and implementation in cases where deemed necessary due to complexity or level of perceived risk.

• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

 

What we’re looking for?

Bilingual in English and Spanish is required
Post Secondary Education completed, while Professional Designation (CPA, CFA) or MBA is an asset
3+ years in business banking risk related roles, specifically in credit adjudication or related
Knowledge of IFRS 9 provision is a strong asset
Regulatory and Industry knowledge preferred
Understanding of insolvency and restructuring framework
Strong financial background. Ability to read, interpret and critically analyze cash flows and financial projections.
Interpersonal and negotiation skills
A client focus critical thinker with an Advisor mindset
Experience working with International banking primarily working with commercial and corporate customers in Asia, and/ or Latin America and the Caribbean is an asset
