Senior Manager, Enterprise AML Program Reporting

Purpose
 
Manages the Enterprise AML Program Reporting function within the Enterprise AML Risk Global Policy and Standards team for the AML Program which covers AML, ATF and Sanctions.  The Senior Manager is responsible for developing and managing the reporting in compliance with governing regulatory obligations, internal policies and procedures in order to meet regulatory, Board and management expectations.  In this regard, the Senior Manager is responsible for establishing and managing processes for AML reporting and communications and working with numerous stakeholders to gather and report information and insights to senior management.  Responsibilities of the Senior Manager include management of the quarterly Business Line CAMLO opinion process and preparation of the Group CAMLO opinion.  The Senior Manager will transform and present information in clear and precise reports for the most senior-level audiences at the Bank, such as the Board, Operating Committee, Risk Policy Committee, and others.  The scope includes all reporting on the AML Program, including reporting requested by Enterprise Risk Management, Global Compliance, and other functions within the Bank. 

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
Develops and implements processes for increasing the effectiveness and quality of AML Program reporting to senior management and board reporting.
Develops and maintains standardized processes, templates and guidance documentation, to streamline the provision of relevant content in support of senior management and board reporting.
Supports the development of well-structured internal communications and executive-level materials for AML senior leadership to incorporate into business line meetings or other settings.  
Develops and maintains standards and procedures for enterprise AML Program governance and reporting.  
Ensures that consistent information and messaging is delivered regarding the enterprise AML Program through all communication and escalation channels.  
Manages the quarterly Business Line CAMLO opinion process and prepares the Group CAMLO opinion in order to provide an overall assessment of the effectiveness of enterprise AML Program.
Supports stakeholder engagement and alignment through frequent interactions with various stakeholders in all three lines of defense.
Supports the broader Global Policy & Standards team with coordination, reporting and communication activities.
Ensures unresolved issues or matters are escalated to the Director, Enterprise AML Program Reporting in a timely manner. 
Provides guidance and leadership to support stakeholders in the production of materials and reporting.
Responsible for reporting processes and content providers, ensuring timely, accurate and high-quality reporting.  
Maintains awareness of regulatory expectations and industry standards related to the enterprise AML Program reporting.
Perform industry and regulatory research and analysis, staying abreast of AML and Sanctions regulatory developments and attends AML training courses. 
Maintains record keeping of key reporting documentation, including but not limited, to supporting evidence and enterprise-wide board presentations.
Manages Scotia intranet sites and communications including all AML Risk Enterprise Policies and documentation.
Pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. 
Additional accountabilities as required
 
Experience / Education:

 

Law degree preferred or degree in business administration, or finance
7 – 10 years of related AML or general Compliance experience
ACAMS designation or equivalent preferred
Solid understanding of regulatory compliance matters and management reporting
Prior exposure to a control environment in risk management, compliance, or audit
Working knowledge of business environment supported by a strong understanding of policy and regulations
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and process design skills
Experience generating executive reporting
HTML/Website management skills preferred
People management experience and leadership skills
Strong MS Office skills to support report generation (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
