Senior Manager, Program Operations and Performance Management

Purpose

Scotiabank is on an exciting journey to expand its customer loyalty program and deliver more value to customers. This position leads and oversees planning, financial analysis, reconciliation, controls, and documentation of customer growth and loyalty program investments, ensuring target profitability objectives are achieved in the most optimal way. Ensures business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures

 

Key Accountabilities 

 

•    Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge

 

•    Leads planning, measurement, and forecasting for loyalty and customer growth programs investment, making recommendations to internal/external partners and management that maximize ROI

 

•    Leads and oversees points reconciliation/attestation for all internal business units and new programs, maintaining on-going alignment with Audit/Regulatory controls requirements.   

 

•    Leads Issues Management process, including investigating variance gaps or escalations, assessing financial impact, and leading resolutions with internal/external stakeholders  

 

•    Oversees Operational controls and evidence documentation, ensuring alignment with internal Audit requirements

 

•    Partners with Finance to ensure accurate recording and planning of expenses/accruals and maintains systems/records for analysis

 

•    Leads innovation roadmap to drive process efficiency/scalability, deeper insights, and ROI orientation 

 

•    Develops presentations and supporting narratives for partners, management team, and executives intended to support strategic decision making.

 

•    Establish regular cadence for collaborating and sharing information with executives, partners, and working teams 

 

•    Represent the department in all matters related to Budgeting including planning, reporting, invoicing, accruals, and re-forecasting. 

 

•    Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

 

•    Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. 

 

•    Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.
 

Education and Other Requirements

 

•    7+ years of experience, with focus in Financial/Budget Management, Loyalty/Partnerships, Vendor Management, or Marketing Operations  

•    Undergraduate degree (or equivalent diploma) required; graduate degree an asset. Specialization in Finance, Business, or Operations, CFA, or MBA certification an asset

•    Understanding of Retail Products financials and P&L levers 

•    Competencies: Strategic thinking, Communication, Results-orientation, Leadership, Process Design/Governance, Controls/Audit, and Financial Management

•    Knowledge of the Canadian banking financial services marketplace, customer segments, and the Bank’s relative competitive position within those market areas

•    Strong facilitator, with the ability to lead team of senior contributors to overall objectives

•    Demonstrated success in leading teams and working cross-functionally. Excellent written and oral communication skills 

•    Experience with data visualization and tools including PowerBI, Tableau, and Microsoft Office
