Purpose of the Job

The Senior Manager, Projects  will be responsible for  leading and/or representing Scotia iTRADE at medium to large projects impacting the business or its clients. The incumbent will have command of the online brokerage client journey and will be able to promote and advance iTRADE’s value proposition.  The successful candidate will be a change agent with strong communication skills, invoke a leadership presence and be familiar with agile development principles. Intiatives will be assigned and prioritized based on the business project sponsor needs.

The incumbent must feel comfortable working in fastpaced and agile environments with reasonable uncertainty and be able to manage multiple initiatives concurrently, of varying complexity, with minimal supervision.  The incumbent will lead and manage these projects by working collaboratively with cross-departmental stakeholders from Scotia iTRADE and other areas of Scotiabank’s Wealth or Retail Banking division

Accountabilities

The incumbent will use their online brokerage knowledge and innate organization skills to frame the project strategy, scope as well as lead the high level planning of key strategic initiatives across the business.  Responsibilities may include:

Leading any or all aspects of project delivery such as project manager, business case writing, user testing and/or facilitate internal training.
Provide proactive and engaged leadership on key projects designed to increase revenue, reduce expenses, enhance business efficiency, and improve the customer experience.
Act as an effective change agent utilizing proper stakeholder analysis and change management techniques.
Provide senior leadership with updates on key strategic initiative project status, key metrics, issues, and risks.
Be a liaison between business units on projects that have a multi-organization or business unit scope.
Proactively anticipate and work towards mitigating risks to project conception, project execution or stakeholder engagement.
Guide the business on implementing specific stakeholder engagement strategies based on stakeholder impact analysis.
Support others by providing just in time coaching on business transformation, project management and process improvement methodologies and tools.
Collaborate with and influence business and non-business partners to complete deliverables within business expectations, provide updates on the projects, resolve issues and provide solutions.
Contribute to the effective functioning of Scotia iTRADE by:
Building effective working relationships across the team and with various business lines and corporate functions
Continually grow and expand online brokerage knowledge related to industry changes, regulatory framework, and specific Scotia iTrade product offering
Facilitating a culture of open and honest communication by actively participating and contributing to touch bases, team meetings and encouraging the generation of new ideas.
Education/ Work Experience/ Designations

5-10+ years of experience in Wealth Management, preferably within the Online/Self Directed business with exposure to leading or participating in  medium to large scale projects.
Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is welcomed, or demonstrated competency in strategic thinking that results in projects being delivered on time and within budget.
Comfort in working up and across the organization – working with senior staff members and front  & back office employees
Proven record of performance and trusted professional credibility
Excellent presentation skills, including ability to create presentations and experience presenting to all levels of an organization
Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Power Point, Visio and expert experience with project managment templates, tracking and decision recording applications
Working Conditions:

Works in a standard office environment with no unusual risk of injury or ill health from physical or environmental factors. {Covid work from home is in effect for this role}
Generally normal business hours apply; extra hours during peak periods and special projects may be required
1 year Maternity Leave contract ending July 15, 2022
