Senior Project Control Officer – Toronto, ON

The Senior Project Control Officer will be responsible to support the Global Risk Management (GRM) Program Management team with the delivery of large programs or multiple projects launched as part of strategic and regulatory programs across GRM. The role is responsible for supporting all stages of the assigned projects such as budgeting, planning, coordination, monitoring, status updates, management reporting and tracking of risks, issues and actions.  The Senior Project Controller will also act as the point of escalation on administrative matters.

 

What you’ll do in this role?

• Assist senior project managers / program managers in successfully managing large programs or a portfolio of GRM projects covering a variety of initiatives
• Manage assigned aspects of the project lifecycle and works with relevant project stakeholders as directed by the project/program manager

• Assist project/program manager in developing project artifacts including charter, project plan, resource plan, change management plan, and related PM artifacts, while complying with applicable enterprise standards

• Gather project status from the team leads (Director, VP levels in typical programs)  and develop weekly status updates, dashboards and other senior management updates

• Work with the team members to collect information and update Program Logs (Action Items, Issues, Risks, Defects, etc.), and follow up for timely actions

• Manage project financial tracking and forecasts with direction from the program manager, utilizing the recommended PMO tools. Provide on-going reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures

• Follow up with key stakeholders responsible for issue resolution and risk mitigation plans including recording detailed results and tracking

• Perform project é program administrative activities including onboarding support, maintenance of project documentation, scheduling of key workshops / meetings etc.

• Manage the central project documentation repository (i.e. SharePoint site, etc.).  Guide the project or workstream teams to keep the repository up to date, and oversee its maintenance

• Identify opportunities for improvement in the project processes, and play a lead role in implementing such changes

• Document and issue minutes of meetings, action items and decisions.

• Prepare and roll-out project-related communications, under the guidance of the program / senior project managers

 

What we’re looking for?

University undergraduate degree or equivalent
5+ years of overall experience, including 2+ years as Senior Project Controller
Sound understanding of project management concepts e.g. planning, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, issue and status tracking, financial tracking etc.
Understanding of Agile project delivery concepts
Experience with technical/IT project implementations preferred 
Experience in banking as well as risk management is an asset 
Excellent skills of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access and SharePoint).
Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
Ability to set priorities and operate with minimum direction.
