Workday Analyst

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Workday Analyst to join our HR Shared Services delivery team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the area of HR cloud implementation and support. They will also interface with employees and use their skills to resolve complex problems.

The Workday Analyst will play a key role in the day-to-day functionality of the HRIS systems, including Workday and WorkForce Software. The incumbent will be responsible for HRIS configurations, upgrades, reporting, security, support, timely and accurate metric development, data analysis and integrity – ultimately ensuring optimal performance of the HRIS systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new, or modify existing integrations from Workday (and/or other HR systems) to internal and external systems using Workday technologies including calculated fields, custom reports, EIBs, document transformation, Workday Studio, Web Services, etc.
  • Assists in leading projects for reporting, dashboards, integrations and scorecards in supporting system upgrades, changes and modifications. Provides timely communications to Canada Goose users and provides direction and required timelines with respect to required user testing based upon each upgrade. Incumbent will perform analysis in advance of all upgrades and work with each Subject Matter Expert to determine the impact on existing processes and will facilitate the decisions needed.
  • Researches new enhancements and education opportunities on a regular basis through Workday Community.
  • As a subject matter expert, proactively suggests process improvements and efficiencies through the HRIS systems.
  • Acts as a Named Support Contact with Workday for all HR functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system support issues for Workday, with special emphasis on Absence and support for other HR systems, as required.
  • Responsible for the security, maintenance and auditing of data and processes. Ensure accuracy and data integrity. Provide technical and functional HRIS expertise to improve systems and processes.
  • Maintain Workforce Management (WFM) system, particularly, WorkForce Suite, Time module.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of new processes and maintenance of business process configurations to meet business and audit needs.
  • Provide end-user training as required.
  • Other duties as required
  • Experience, Education and Designations:

  • Human Resources background preferred
  • 2+ years of experience as HRIS Analyst using Workday HCM, Absence and Time Tracking modules;
  • Workday Benefits & Compensation experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience with Workday reporting, dashboards and security
  • Demonstrated expert ability to create and maintain complex Workday Calculated Fields
  • Excellent Workday integration skills with Workday setup using Studio, core Connectors, EIB, PICOFs, Web Services, REST APIs
  • Experience with Workforce management systems, preferably WorkForce Software
  • Demonstrated project management skills and methodology
  • Advanced skills in MS Office suite of tools (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • WorkForce Software certification is an asset
  • Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

  • Technologically adept and ability to work with multiple Microsoft applications.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and committed to a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to think proactively, critically and independently to make good decisions; an inquisitive problem solver. Able to apply logic in thinking through downstream impacts for regression testing purposes and investigate system issues to root cause.
  • Knowledge of human resources programs, polices and processes.
  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic and fast paced environment with a high degree of change and ambiguity; able to work efficiently under pressure and prioritize.
  • Excellent grammar, business letter and report writing skills.
  • Ability to organize moderate amounts of business information and develop it into cohesive, professional reports and presentations.
  • A clear and succinct communicator (verbal and written); excellent listening skills.
  • Understand and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Embrace continuous improvement by proposing new and/or better ways of doing things.
  • Working Conditions:

  • Office environment; working on computer for 90% of the day
