Rogers is seeking a Data Engineer as part of the Enterprise Data and Analytics Team who will be managing Azure Cloud Admin work across all data projects. They will serve as a key member of the Data Engineering team and will be responsible for the design, deployment and operations of all the platform infrastructure in Development, Pre-Production and Production environments.
What you’ll be doing:
- Responsible for leading a team of contractor admins to deliver continuous admin support to all development and production support activities.
- Design of storage and datawarehouse for replication, failover, backup, and extraction functions.
- Product evaluation and selection for all platform infrastructure requirements.
- Creation of operations documentation and scripts for all platform infrastructures.
- Deployment and tuning of monitoring for critical platform availability and performance thresholds and alarms.
- Create performance baseline metrics and monitor performance problems.
- Application and resource setup in cloud environment. Setup/configuration of database backup/recovery, database monitoring, database performance tuning, Security, problem diagnosis
- Maintaining, improving existing continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
- Managing and deploying application versions
- Co-ordinate with multiple Data Engineers, Platform teams (Cloud Ops and DBA’s) and Business Users.
What You Need to Have:
- Experience migrating the On-Prem Databases (Oracle/Big Data) to Cloud (Azure and AWS)
- Experience architecting, supporting and implementing advanced, strategic database management systems
- Knowledge of Azure services is a must.
- Demonstrated ability to drive Agile development and implement automated process to improve database system reliability
- Strong foundation in system administration, including performing backups, upgrading and patching, performance tuning, monitoring, alerting, deployments, and disaster recovery.
- Understanding of infrastructure design, networking, virtualization, identity, security and storage.
- Experience fine tuning applications and systems for high performance and higher volume throughput
