Now that our success is reaching new heights, we are currently looking to find a new team member to join our Finance team.

Position Summary: The Junior Accountant will be providing support to the Finance team. They will be responsible for an accounts receivable role in receiving revenue, monitoring past due invoices, and for a supporting role in the Finance team reporting from time-to-time.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Answering phone calls, emails, or faxes from customers with regards to making payment on their installation
  • Keeping work area organized – including keeping track of completed files
  • Receiving completed installation files and inputting them into accounting software (recognizing revenue)
  • Receiving subcontractor invoices and inputting them into accounting software
  • Processing and recording customer payments
  • Preparing, printing, and sending subcontractor cheques on a weekly basis
  • Processing financing forms for customers
  • Managing and monitoring customer collections – calling customers for past due payments and mailing out past due invoices
  • Processing customer credits and recording them into accounting system and CRM system
  • Weekly reporting of accounts receivable account
  • Work closely with cross functional departments to ensure all business reporting and compliance is adhered to
  • Provide support to fellow Finance team members
  • Weekly and month end reporting as required by Finance team

Additional Responsibilities:

  • As assigned by management or supervisor

Qualifications and Skills

  • 2-3 years’ experience working in an accounting role
  • Minimum University Degree or College Diploma in Accounting or another related field
  • Must have knowledge of Sage (MAS) or other relevant accounting software
  • Flexible work schedule with possibility of working evenings and/or weekends
  • Strong data entry skills and good mathematical aptitude
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office – especially Excel
  • Enthusiastic, team orientated, and a quick learner
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Experience in the Door & Window industry is an asset
