Job Summary
What began as a 5000 square foot fresh bakery in 2005 and has now evolved into a 30 000 square foot bakery of the best quality classic and gourmet donuts. CT Bakery works with leading retailers and food companies such as Walmart, Costco, Dawn Food Products and Petro Canada, to name a few, to co-brand supply and assist in the development of their ‘own’ brand
We are currently seeking an Accountant. The Accountant will be responsible for the overall day to day accounting functions which includes but are not limited to analysis and reconciliation of income statement and balance sheet for individual operations, month end close process, preparation and distribution of client billings and remittance of certain client payments
Responsibilities and Duties
- Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Process collections, and forecasts cash flows
- Releases vendor payments and communicates with vendors to resolve any issues
- Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
- Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors.
- Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing financial data; recommending plans.
- Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
- Reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks.
- Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
Undergraduate degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance
Minimum 3-5 years work experience as an Accountant in a professional environment
Positive attitude and detail oriented
Proficient use of MS Office (Word/Excel)
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and work under pressure
Strong attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Problem solver with strong analytical skills
