Role: IT Solution Architect
Working location: Current remote. Post COVID at Mirabel, Quebec
Role responsibilities:
- Analyze requirements to identify where they can integrate new hardware, operating
systems, or connectivity solutions
- Provide input on strategic IT operations and solution decisions including major sourcing
decisions, technology selections, make versus buy versus rent, etc.
- Ensure integration of IT ecosystem and solutions within the domain and with other domains
- Understand market trends and solutions, asses existing solutions against them and influence
the roadmap
- Produce and update the IT architecture master plan for his area of specialty
- Review proposals and estimates from vendors, validate the feasibility and determine
whether they fit into existing budgetary and time restrictions
- Depending on the technological positioning, define the targets to be reached and the
technological architecture rules to follow
- Produce transition and migration strategies toward target architectures
- Prior to the Project realization, provide the HL specifications for proposed solutions,
- necessary guidelines, targets and architectural rules to follow
- Manage external vendors to develop detailed specifications and implement all aspects of
the solution
- Maintain the technological architecture and disseminate expertise and knowledge of
operational and information systems
- Work closely with Infrastructure domain to ensure hardware is available and properly
configured
- Account for possible project challenges on constraints including, risks, time, resources and

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
- Project management and leadership skills are essential
- 8+ years of solution architecture experience working across multiple platforms and
technologies with a proven ability to design and implement scalable cost-effective solutions
- 3+ years’ of demonstrated experience designing environment from ground up
- 3+ years’ experience in creating and maintaining architecture frameworks, standards,
policies and processes
- Experience designing, integrating and managing complex solutions
- Relevant experience in the Operations and Manufacturing Execution solutions such as MES
Apriso, SAP ECC, tooling and plant maintenance solutions.
- Relevant experience: in the field of Aerospace (an asset)
- Experience developing IT solution and cloud infrastructure, integrating component in
complex cloud computing business solutions (an asset)
- Knowledge of client-server networking and database management
- Knowledge of Web server and application server administration and web applications
deployment experience
- Knowledge of Windows, Linux, Citrix, VMware, Agile SAFe methodology (an asset), basic
knowledge of security (data classification, logging, etc.), basic knowledge of
telecommunications (load balancing, VLAN, firewalls, etc.)
- Work efficiently in a team environment to identify and solve problems and offer a solution
- Build positive relationships with customers, stakeholders and teammates
- Advanced understanding of business analysis techniques and processes
- Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Take initiative in accomplishing and improving daily tasks and deliverables
