What is the opportunity?
The Global Equities Technology Group is seeking a Core Java Developer for the Reporting & Business Analytics team which services RBC Capital Markets. The group manages and enhances a data warehouse application which collects trading activity within the Global Equities business. The group is also responsible for creating various reports and feeds based on the stored information. This is a fast paced business with frequently changing needs and requirements.
What will you do?
Design and develop data processing and reporting applications in Java.
Document the technical design decisions and prepare all required SDLC artifacts.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert around database design, configuration and optimization.
Contribute input to architectural design and data modeling to ensure that the solution is scalable, highly performing and extensible.
Integrate new data sources into data marts utilizing T-SQL stored procedures, MS-SSIS, third-party ETL tools or custom ETL processes.
Play the role of a technical advisor / subject matter expert.
Develop end-user reports (using MS-SSRS).
Liaise with the DBA team to ensure a correctly configured and tuned database instance.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-Have:
5-7 years of Core Java & Spring experience
MVC web frameworks
JMS & other messaging systems (MQ, Solace, etc.)
SQL (SQL Server preferred)
Unix shell scripting
Nice-to-have
ETL
SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, etc.
Previous Capital Markets industry experience
