Portfolio Analyst

What is the opportunity?

The Enterprise Payments and Trade Technology (EP& TT) Group is looking for a Portfolio Analyst role. This role will support the technology team’s portfolio reporting and portfolio management activities as well as support the Agile transformation and improvement of it Project/ Portfolio Management Processes. This role will help ensure that financial and best practice reporting, controls and project governance standards are maintained and that Project Management artifacts are produced. EP&TT provides services to Canadian Banking, Global Financial Institutions, Capital Markets, International Banking, Wealth Management, RBC Investor Services, and internal functions such as Fraud and AML. The group supports automated funds transfers, wire payments, trade products, foreign exchange, image retrieval, lockbox, cash services, clearing and settlement, SWIFT messaging and Network Gateway connectivity.

What will you do?

Assist in the delivery of timely and accurate portfolio reporting and analytics, summarizing findings and communicating to stakeholders

Ensure accurate reporting and forecasting of project financials (i.e. data quality) in the bank’s enterprise reporting system and identifying issues that require escalation to the Project / Program / Portfolio leadership

Supporting management activities around annual and quarterly financial forecasting by ensuring accurate figures are reported and forecasted

Enable and support team’s agile transformation; Agile scrum master role when needed

Improve current project management and portfolio reporting practices to eliminate ‘non- value add’ processes.

Vendor and procurement management and SOW billing and accrual processes

Support project management team with PM tools such as PVE/MIS for issues, project changes, and creations

Create and store portfolio management documents in the PMT repository on share point and shared drive, e.g., ensuring that documents are up to date, assisting people in finding documents and encouraging them to be self-sufficient.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

Excellent organizational and presentation skills along with a strong collaborative and supportive attitude

A flexible work schedule and a commitment to meet deadlines

Experience working with RBC internal portfolio financial tracking and mgmt. tools like MIS, Plan view, EITS, EPPM, MS Project, Share point , etc.

University degree or relevant IT experience

2+ years of experience working with technology projects and/or large programs

Excellent financial management skills: Contribute and manage activities for annual and quarterly planning cycles and financial monitoring and tracking activities. Portfolio level resource and transit planning and tracking.

Nice-to-have

Creativity to go beyond current tools and processes to deliver the best solution to the problem

PMP, CSM or PgMP certifications

2+ years of agile delivery/transformation and scrum master experience

Vendor management and SOW management skills
