We are currently recruiting for a Business Analyst to join our Product Development team in our Toronto office on a contract basis. This position plays an integral role in our company’s dedication to Customer Service excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Gathering business and system requirements
- Learning and documenting complex business processes in an expeditious manner
- Contributing to testing
- Technical writing
- Facilitating large group analysis sessions and conducting interviews with all levels of business
- Recording detailed results of analysis sessions
- Presenting products or enhancements and changes within products to business owners
- Working closely with Subject Matter Experts, PM, QAs, and Developers to develop software products
- Testing application, contributing to test planning and scripts where necessary
Skills & Requirements:
- University degree or a business-related college diploma with a strong IT affinity and/or minimum 2 years’ work experience as a Business Analyst
- Experience with projects that interact and overlap
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Ability to work closely with the Development team and establish good working relationships with all team members
- Comfortable presenting to and communicating with all levels of business
- Strong interviewing, surveying and technical writing skills
- Ability to create a variety of specification documents such as use cases, user stories and process flows
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and its basic concepts
- Firm grasp of user interface design best practices and conventions
- Understanding of data modelling concepts and ability to express details of business requirements in those terms, when needed
- Ability to write or execute complex testing scripts
- Ability to adapt to the processes and documentation standards being employed on a given project as well as to deviations from established processes, as directed
- Ability to embrace constructive feedback for self-development and the advancement of best practices
- Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple tasks and work within tight deadlines
- Ability to problem solve and simplify business processes
- Proactive approach to learning all areas of software development and business processes within the company
